Although Fritz Air was established in 2005, our roots in the heating and cooling industry go back much further.
Built on a Lifetime of HVAC Experience
Founder Ben Fritz began learning the HVAC trade at age 14 while working alongside his father, Bud Fritz, owner of Highview Heating. Ben also gained experience working with his grandfather’s heating oil company, Formaggioni’s, in Torrington and collaborating with his uncle, Rich Carlson, who owns an HVAC company of his own.
That early, hands-on experience gave Ben more than technical knowledge. It taught him the importance of doing quality work, treating customers fairly, and being there when a family needs help restoring heat or air conditioning.
Ben established Fritz Air in 2005, initially manufacturing custom ductwork while continuing to work full time elsewhere. As the company’s reputation and customer base grew, Fritz Air increasingly demanded his full attention. In 2017, Ben left traditional employment to operate and grow the company full time.

Two Lifelong Friends and Business Partners
Ben Fritz and Christian Bruckner first met during their freshman year at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School. While Ben built his career in HVAC, Christian pursued a career in accounting, finance, and business leadership.
Christian helped Ben establish the accounting and administrative side of Fritz Air in 2005 and continued advising the company as it grew. In the fall of 2024, Christian formally joined Ben as a business partner, marking a new stage in Fritz Air’s growth.
Christian brings more than 20 years of financial and operational leadership experience to the company, including experience as a chief financial officer. Today, he helps manage the systems, people, financing, and business operations needed to support Fritz Air’s customers and growing team.
What began as a small custom-ductwork operation has grown into a full-service HVAC company with a team of 15 employees as of 2026.

We provide maintenance, repair, and installation services for boilers, furnaces, central air-conditioning systems, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, hot-water equipment, radiant heating, hydro-air systems, indoor-air-quality products, and other HVAC systems. We primarily serve residential customers while also supporting light-commercial properties.
When someone calls because their heat or air conditioning is not working, our team makes every reasonable effort to get the system operating again as quickly as possible. We offer 24-hour emergency service, financing options, and free estimates for qualifying installations.
Because Fritz Air does not sell heating oil or natural gas, our recommendations are based on what we believe is best for the customer’s home, comfort needs, and budget—not on selling a particular fuel.
